My only suggestion for improvement is that we were told are extra bed was 900 bath, but not that it was 900 bath PR. night. This we were not informed of. But overall it has been a pleasent stay, which I'll recommend

All the people who work here are fantastic, feel pro's, the kindness and serenity is exceptional, the food was great and I love the fried egg. It did get hot in the room during the day, great place the massage were excellent, the plants are awesome and I would return with out hesitation. I did not want to leave. Sixteen days and I loved It. We had the Sapphire room and I think it should have one more A.C. It was very hot & uncomfortable during the middle of the day, but the food & hospitality totally compensated for thai. I love the people here at Ban Sabai & I hopefully will be back. .My sister and my best friend joined me in a trip to Thailand to celebrate my 50th birthday. Ban Sabai was the perfect place for us to stay and explore Chiang Mai. Booking was easy and all correspondence handled efficiently. On arrival our villa ( Lapis) was really lovely - authentic timber two-storey house -with three bathrooms!!!! Although none of us wanted to cook the facilites were there if we had wanted to. Open air bathrooms were a delight! We found the staff very helpful. This is not a five star resort however we felt safe and enjoyed being out of the hustle and bustle of the city. You can stay in hotels and feel like you could be in any city in the world. For a taste of a more authentic Thailand I strongly recommend Ban Sabai.
I had an amzing birthday trip and I will definitely be back!!!!

Eine sehr schöne Trouvaille
Eine kleine Oase mitten in einer wunderschönen Vegetation, darin kleine geschmackvoll und NICHT geschmäcklerisch eingerichtete Bugalows im Thaistil.
In den meisten Schlafzimmer hat man vom Bett aus eine schöne Aussicht in den herrlichen Blätterwald. Im Zimmer stehen Schalen mit feinen Früchten und schönen Pflanzen. In den offenen Salas geniesst man eine professionelle Thai- oder Ölmassage und hört die Vögel pfeifen und das Wasser des Brunnens plätschern.
Vom Ban Sabai aus fährt man problemlos in die Stadt und auf diverse Touren in der Gegend, entweder mit dem freundliche Chauffeur des Hotels, mit Tuck Tuck oder Bussen.
Wieder zurück im Hotel geniesst man die ruhige private Atmosphäre, das gute Essen des Restaurants mit der stilvollen Einrichtung!
Wer zu viert oder als Familie reist, dem empfehle ich das Lapis, ein Haus mit eigenem grossen Garten neben dem Hotel.
Wer gerne mitten in der Natur wohnt und ein kleines charmantes Bungalow mit freiluft Badezimmer möchte, dem empfehle ich eines der älteren Bungalows wie das Topas.

“Hyggelig hotell utenfor Chiang Mai”
Vi bodde en uke på Ban Sabai og trivdes svært godt. Svært smakfult innreded rom med noe harde senger og bad utendørs. Det er noe lytt mellom rommene. Deilig frokost og god restaurant. Varierende engelskkunnskaper hos de ansatte, men med vennlig og serviceminded innstilling. Noe vasneklig å finne for taxisjågører og hotellet ligger ca 20 min å kjøre utenfor sentrum.

Nach drei Tagen Bangkok und einer Nacht im Bus, kam uns Ban Sabai wie eine Oase der Ruhe vor. Die Häuschen, alle nach Steinen benannt, erinnerten an die traditionellen Häuser im Norden Thailands. Besonders empfehlen können wir eine Massage auf dem Steg über dem Teich abends und die leckere hausgemachte Passionsfruchtmarmelade zum Frühstück. Es hätte noch vieles zu entdecken gegeben an diesem Ort. Gerne kommen wir wieder. Danke für alles.

Privatsphäre und Entspannung pur
Im Ban Sabai kann man sich so richtig wohl fühlen. Ein wirklich entspannender Ort wo man Massagen etc. in aller Ruhe geniessen kann. Kein Trubel der einen stört. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und erfüllt einem jeden Wunsch. Es lohnt sich die Villa Lapislazuli zu mieten. Diese verfügt über jeglichen Komfort und man fühlt sich, als wäre man Privatgrundbesitzer.... Das Ban Sabai ist eine Oase von der aus man jederzeit aufs Land oder in die Stadt kann, je nachdem wonach einem ist. Ein Tipp für unkomplizierte Leute die eine stilvolle und persönliche Atmosphäre mögen.
Room Tip: Ich empfehle die kleinen Holzbungalows wie das Opal oder das Haus Lapislazuli für Familien oder mehr...

Cosy and Exquisit
Located north of town, it will require a taxi or tuk-tuk to go anywhere. That said, to get to all the places you'll want to go in and around Chiang Mai will require transportation regardless of where you stay. Everything else about Ban Sabai is absolutely outstanding. It is hidden in a quiet neighborhood, beautifully designed, and graciously staffed. Our room was quite large, nicely furnished, and situated with relaxing views of the garden. Dinner in the restaurant was better and cheaper than the well known places in town. we will be back!

Relax and be pampered
Just returned from a very relaxing experience at Ban Sabai spa village. My sister and i did the detox programme which was very well organised and well thought out. I found my experience to be trouble-free booking online, receiving very quick responses to my emails - extremely organised. Ban Sabai Spa village itself is a lovely, quiet place to stay. The traditional lanna-style bedrooms were interesting and very comfortable. Although reasonably small you could find a quiet place to sit and relax and each place was fairly private. The staff spoke quite good english and were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Overall a very lovely experience and I would not hesitate to recommend staying here.

Just what we wanted
The Ban Sabai Spa Village is a beautiful traditional lanna-style resort with lovely wood-detailed rooms. The reception staff spoke great english and the drivers were courteous and went out of their way to help us get where we were going. One even took photos of us riding elephants and had them printed to give to us the next day!
Although the spa treatments were much more expensive than you'd get in the city centre of Chiang Mai, the atmosphere and attention given by staff made us happy to pay around 1000 baht for an hour. It's a little bit out of the action but a taxi into the night bazaar was only 150-200 baht, unless you get the 6pm free shuttle. We didn't get to use our outdoor jacuzzi because the weather was bad, but overall we had a magical honeymoon at Ban Sabai and would go back. We really wanted somewhere that felt "Thai" - i.e not some cookie cutter anonymous western style hotel, and Ban Sabai was exactly that. |

Super endroit, excellente cuisinière, jolie petite piscine, villas en bois très agréables, salles de bains extérieurs. Le tout fourré dans la végétation, ce qui est très joli et agréable mais offre cependant un terrain de jeu pour les moustiques, mais bon il faut bien s'en arranger. Excellent rapport qualité-prix. Juste un peu loin du centre (15 mn de tuk tuk) mais rien de méchant.

It was a beautiful resort, outside of the city so very peaceful. Lots of mosquitos due to being in the countryside and next to a large rice field which was a very wet so attracted lots of bugs. |

wie wir es erwartet haben - alles zur besten Zufriedenheit
Das Hotel ist sehr schön. Es liegt ausserhalb desStadtgewimmels und man taucht in einen großen Dschungel-garten ein.
Die Anbindung an die Stadt war kein Problem. Im Hotel wurde ein täglicher Tranfer zum Night Market in der City angeboten und auch die Heimfahrt von der City in das Hotel war kein Problem. Hierfür haben wir alle Varianten ausprobiert - vom Tuck Tuck über Red Car (Sammeltaxi) bis zum normalen Taxi.
In der Nebensaison hatten wir das Hotel fast für uns allein und man hat uns die Wünsche quasi von den Lippen abgelesen; das Personal war ausgesprochen zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. ...also absolut empfehlenswert! |

A tropical Hidaway
We stopped at Ban Sabai for 8 nights in July. It is located about 15 minutes from the bustle of Chiang Mai and there is not much to do in the immediate vicinity. A few tiny food outlets and a small shop. However getting into Chiang Mai was never a problem. The lovely staff will ring for a taxi and for around 150 bahts a single trip you are soon whisked into the metropolis. Ban Sabai is located in a residential area and the site is immersed in huge tropical jungle type plant life. (needless to say mosquitoes are prevalent) the rooms to have mosquito nets to sleep under. The traditional style properties are lovely. Perhaps a little dark with the over growth but this also adds to privacy. It's not the most peaceful place with airplanes overhead and local life (cockerels seem to be very vocal) and the wild life adds to the audiological input.....but hey.... That's how it should be. We were disturbed every night by something above our head and we thought it was some kind of owl. But it turned out to be a Tokay gecko that lived in the roof. Boy....was he a noisy little critter.
The breakfasts were ok but other meals were sometimes a bit hit and miss. Lunch time, one meal turned up a good 15 mins before the other and the other was well under cooked.
The staff are delightful. Friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. The outdoor bathroom was a little jaded and could do with replacing. Don't expect hot water..... It's Luke warm but actually just right once you get over the initial shudder.
All in all a positive review.

nice placeits a peaceful place
choose ban sabai as I want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and I am not disappointed. love every aspect of the hotel. Its quiet and its just a 15 mins drive to the night market. Overall its a pleasent stay for me. |

food and servicethe hotel was serene and relaxing. room was clean and they have tea and fruits to welcome you! service at reception area was excellent. breakfast buffet was of quality despite lacking in variety. area for breakfast buffet was also cosy. if you want a unique and unconventional hotel experience, do try staying in ban sabai!

Spacious, well appointed rooms
Good rooms in garden setting
the spacious and well appointed rooms are the best feature of ban sabai. the garden setting is delightful, but the resort is in a village and there are neighbours, complete with crowing roosters. next time i'd opt for a spa resort in a rural setting, but appreciate this may cost more. the restaurant was also a bit hit and miss. i had a good meal one night, but ordered a room service "vegetarian sandwich" for lunch the next day. it was lettuce, tomato and onion! spa prices were on the high side, as they often are at spa resorts, so i went into chiang mai instead and had a spa treatment for significantly less. my stay was enjoyable, but i'd look further afield next time around. i have since learned that there is a shuttle service from the hotel to cm, but was not made aware of this when checking in and spent several hundred baht instead on the hotel transport van.
Restaurant Tip: the ban sabai restaurant is probably ok for one dinner, but plan on going to cm for meals if you are staying longer than a few days.

Lush, beautifully traditional rooms
the lovely rustic rooms and property on the whole are the selling point to this property. the downside is the rather cold and unfriendly customer service at the front desk. there is a young woman who tries but has a very limited grasp of english language. the older woman at the front seems very cold and dissatisfied with her job. the breakfast is nice and the only warm reception from hotel employees were the women working in the restaurant.

ban sabai is a very nice hotel for a relaxing trip. location is a bit off so it would not fit for the sightseeing/shopping-oriented persons. facilities are great. rooms are spacious. staffs are very nice and helpful. breakfast is american & english style, not traditional thai.

This is a paradise not too far away from the city, 15 minutes by Tuk- tuk. The houses on stilts with under it a large chill-out area, steam room and sauna are spacious and nicely decorated. The pool is cool and the garden green. The restaurant serves delicious dishes at a very reasonale price. Breakfast is how it should be. The staff is friendly but also professional.
Like in most lodgings in Asia the showerhead was clogged by calcium, a pitty as the open air bathroom lost because of this its lustre. |

Comfortable and relaxed
A bit rustic. Many Leaves from the surrounding trees floating in the swimming pool are only cleaned out once a day. The country side surrounding the resort offers nothing of interest. Don't order fried eggs. They are virtually deep fried and dripping in oil |

If Chiang Mai isn't the seventh heaven, it is very close to it. The resort accommodation is first class (comfortabl, relaxing, peaceful). The resort gardens are picturesque and soothing as far as ambience concerned. The staff are helpful, courteous, respectful and friendly. A true great to all concerned, it has been a wonderful stay, cheers!
